It’s clear that Amanda enjoys her work. Her career has followed through a great variety of design related roles from window dressing to stalls at shows to home design, her own shop and fashion.
Even to the point of going to Chicago with a team to win a GIA Award (for excellence in product design).
But at heart it seems that what really drives her is the customer. When she speaks about retirement, what keeps her coming back for that “next Christmas” is the moment when the customer sees the outcome of her work and just says:
‘Wow!’
The research, the shaping of the design and the final product are all enjoyable but it is the customer’s satisfaction and delight that is the moment that she loves and keeps her going.
