I really enjoyed Amanda’s description of helping clients with a store design.
“You know, I used to freelance window dress and I’d get to someone’s shop and they’d bought all this stuff and they thought it was all lovely but they had no idea how it was going to go together and I would walk in there and turn it into something looking great.”
This resonated for me because it is very similar to the strategy work I do where people and businesses have all these amazing ideas, great history and great products but are struggling to pull it all together.
What Amanda is able to do is simplify what is in front of her, use her experience to create a coherent design and then pull the pieces together under a consistent story.
